General Settings

Views per Cycle – it is the number of impressions of each ad in set, the weight of which is set to 10. The cycle is considered finished in the case if all connected ads (max weight) were shown this number of times. Ads with less weight will be shown less frequently (weight 10 – 100%, weight 3 – 30%, etc). On the basis of this value is calculated the relative ratio of ad impressions. When the cycle is finished all relative counters reset to 0 and the cycle begins anew. Each reset of cycle requires a separate SQL query. The higher the value, the less additional requests will be fulfilled. However, the larger the value, the greater the probability of occurrence of overflow error (do not set this parameter to the max integer value).

Minimum Level for the Menu Access – Who can use menu of the plugin. Minimum User Level needed for access to menu of plugin. In any case only Super Admin and Administrator can use Settings Menu of SAM Pro Lite Plugin.

Ad Output Mode – Standard (PHP) or Caching Compatible (Javascript). Standard (PHP) mode is more faster but is not compatible with the caching plugins. If your blog use the caching plugin (i.e WP Super Cache, W3 Total Cache or any other) select “Caching Compatible (Javascript)” mode.

Display Ad Source in – New Window (Tab) or Current Window (Tab). Target window (tab) for advertisement source.

Ads Rotation – Select type of ad rotation. By page refresh – each new ad from a set will shown when a page is opened or refreshed. By timer – forcing the ad rotation after each cycle of timer. Rotation by timer is available only for “Caching Compatible (Javascript)” output mode.

Set the necessary time interval of the ad rotation (in seconds) for the rotation by timer.

Allow displaying ads on bbPress forum pages – available only if bbPress is installed on your blog.

Extended Options

I use (plan to use) my own flash (SWF) banners. In other words, allow loading the script “SWFObject” on the pages of the blog.

Turn on/off the error log, Turn on/off the error log for Front Side – If you have any problems or you think that you have any problems, turn on these options. All the problems associated with MySQL will be recorded in the error log.

Advertiser Welcome Page – If you want to sell advertising space on your blog, you can create a page on which potential advertisers will be able to send request for placement of advertisements.

Select page you created for this purposes.

Only for this page will be loaded scripts and styles needed to display form of request advertising by potential advertiser. And only on this page will work shortcodes sam_pro_table  and sam_pro_request .

Advertiser Statistics Page – If you sell advertising space in your blog, it will be interesting to advertisers to evaluate the effectiveness of their investment. The Advertiser Statistics Page will help them in this.

Select page you created for this purposes.

Only for this page will be loaded scripts and styles needed to display form of request advertising by potential advertiser. And only on this page will work shortcodes sam_pro_adv_name and sam_pro_stats_pane.

Admin Layout

Items per Page – How many rows of the items list will be shown on one page of the data grid.

Rules

Just turn on the necessary rules.

The more rules you use – the greater the length of the SQL request will be generated. Turn on only those rules that are going to use. Only those rules that you have turned on here will be available for use on the page of Advertisements Editor.

If you want to sell advertising space, be sure to turn on the schedule rule.

Upgrading

This feature simplifies the process of updating SAM Pro plugin. By using this feature there is no more necessity to download install packages and upload them via wp-admin or FTP protocol manually. This way, automatic updates save your time and prevent you from doing boring routine. Thanks to them you are quickly informed about a new version and with just only one click will be your plugin up to date. All important information can be found in Updates section of WordPress Dashboard.

From 1.6.0.37 version you can update the plugin directly from your WordPress blog using Oauth authentication.

OAuth is an authentication protocol that allows users to approve application to act on their behalf without sharing their password. More information can be found at oauth.net or in the excellent Beginner’s Guide to OAuth from Hueniverse.

To enable the plugin update from your blog, you should generate a Personal Token on the site of the Envato API.

Paste the generated Personal Token in the “Your Envato Market Personal Token” field and turn on checkbox “Allow upgrading of the plugin using WordPress tools”. The result will:

Plugin Deactivating

Clean Uninstallation – garbage collection in the process of deactivating the plugin.

Delete plugin options during deactivating plugin – all plugin’s options will be removed from WordPress options table.

Delete database tables of plugin during deactivating plugin – all plugin’s DB tables will be removed from your database.

Delete custom images folder of plugin during deactivating plugin – plugin’s images folder will be removed from your server.

Embedding Tab

ALE – ads linking and embedding. SAM Pro Plugin can automatically insert the Ad Objects into the content of posts and pages. Also it can insert the Ad Objects into the lists of posts on the archives pages. Here you can configure all the options of this possibility.

Content

In this section you can allow embedding of Ad Objects only on pages and pages of single posts.

Ad Before Content

Ad Object before content – select an Ad Object you want to display before the content of single post or page.

You can: Allow embedding of Ad Object before post/page content, Allow embedding of Ad Object before post/page or post/page excerpt in the loop, Allow embedding of Ad Object before bbPress Forum topic content, Allow embedding of Ad Object into bbPress Forum forums/topics lists.

If you want to use predefined HTML tags check “Allow using predefined Ad Object HTML tags (before and after codes)” checkbox.

Ad Within the Content

Ad Object within the content – select an Ad Object you want to display within the content of single post or page.

You can: Allow embedding of Ad Object into the middle of post/page content, Allow embedding of Ad Object into the middle of bbPress Forum topic content…

Minimum Paragraphs – embedding of the Ad Object will be allowed only if the content contains at least this number of the paragraphs.

Insert Ad Object after – embed the Ad Object after middle of content or paragraph number. Embed Ad Object at the middle of content or after defined number of paragraphs (see Offset).

Offset – Embed Ad Object after this number of paragraphs.

Back Offset – Between the last embedded Ad Object and the end of the content must be at least this number of paragraphs.

Repeat insertion – Repeat embedding of Ad Object after each {Offset} posts number.

Ad After Content

Ad Object after content – select an Ad Object you want to display after the content of single post or page.

Archives

Use these parameters for allowing/defining Ads Objects which will be automatically embedded into pages of archives.

You can allow auto embedding of the Ad Objects on Home/Front page. By default it is disallowed.

Ad Object before the posts list

Ad Object before posts list – select an Ad Object you want to display before posts list on archive pages.

You can: Allow embedding of Ad Object before posts list, Allow embedding of Ad Object before bbPress forums list, Allow embedding of Ad Object before bbPress topics list.

Ad Object between posts/excerpts in the posts list

Ad Object between posts/excerpts in the posts list – select an Ad Object you want to display between posts/excerpts in the posts list on archive pages.

Offset – Insert Ad Object after this number of posts/excerpts.

Repeat insertion – repeat embedding after each {Offset} numbers of posts/excerpts.

Ad Object after posts list – select an Ad Object you want to display after posts list on archive pages.

Google DFP Settings

Here you can adjust parameters of your Google DFP account.

If you plan to use Google DFP on your site you must Allow using Google DoubleClick for Publishers (DFP) rotator codes. It means that you allow loading Google JS scripts in the header of your blog.

Google DFP Mode – select mode of Google DFP: GAM (Google Ad Manager) or GPT (Google Publisher Tag).

Google DFP Pub Code (GAM) – Your Google DFP Pub code. i.e: ca-pub-0000000000000000. Only for GAM mode.

Google DFP Network Code (GPT) – Network Code of Your DFP Ad Network. Only for GPT mode.

Google AdSense Settings

You can enable Google AdSense page-level ads for mobile devices using only your AdSense publisher ID.

Anchor/overlay ads
Mobile ads that stick to the edge of the user’s screen and are easily dismissable.

  • Shown by AdSense at optimal times to help increase revenue and provide a good user experience
  • Don’t count towards your 3 ads per page limit
  • Only show on high-end mobile devices

Vignette ads
Mobile full-screen ads that appear between page loads on your site and can be easily dismissed by your users.

  • Shown by AdSense at optimal times to help increase revenue and provide a good user experience
  • Don’t count towards your 3 ads per page limit
  • Only show on high-end mobile devices
  • Limited in number to maintain a good user experience

Google AdSense Pub Code – your Google AdSense Publisher ID. Use prefix “ca-“, ie: ca-pub-0000000000000000.

Allow using Google AdSense page-level (anchor/overlay or/and vignette) ads on mobile devices – just check this checkbox for allowing… Do not forget to adjust your Google AdSense settings on settings page (My Ads -> Page-level ads).

Mailing System

You can Allow SAM Mailing System to send statistical data to advertisers with Periodicity of sending reports. Available periodicity: monthly or weekly.

Mail Data

You can adjust Reporting Data. Name and Description of the ad will be included to the reporting data in any case. You can include next data into the report:

  • Ad Impressions (Number of shows of the advertisement)
  • Ad Clicks (Number of clicks on the advertisement)
  • CPM (Cost per thousand impessions, calculated value)
  • CPC (Cost per click, calculated value)
  • CTR (Click through rate, calculated value)

Mail Content

Here you can adjust Mail Content. You can use the following short codes in the parameter fields of this section:

  • [name] – will be replaced with the advertiser’s name.
  • [site] – will be replaced with the name of your site.
  • [month] – will be replaced with the name of the month of the reporting period.
  • [year] – will be replaced with the year of the reporting period.
  • [first] – will be replaced with the first date of the reporting period.
  • [last] – will be replaced with the last date of the reporting period.
  • [stats_url] – will be replaced with the link to the advertiser’s unique statistics page (if page is defined).

Mail Subject – Mail subject of sending email.

Mail Greeting String – Greeting string of sending email.

Mail Text before statistical data table – Some text before statistical data table of sending email.

Mail Text after statistical data table – Some text after statistical data table of sending email.

Mail Warning 1 – This text will be placed at the end of sending email. By default: “You received this mail because you are an advertiser of site [site]. If time of your campaign expires or if you refuse to post your ads on our site, you will be excluded from the mailing list automatically. Thank you for your cooperation.”.

Mail Warning 2 – This text will be placed at the very end of sending email. By default: “Do not respond to this mail! This mail was sent automatically by WordPress plugin SAM Pro Lite.”.

Shortcodes Tab

Request Form

Here you can adjust Advertising Request Form Labels. You can localize these labels or define your own.

Also, if you want to use Request Form, you must define Google reCaptcha Secret Key and Google reCaptcha Site Key.

Info Table

Here you can adjust column labels of Info Table. Also, if you want display Info Table for potential advertisers, you can include “Estimated Impressions” data into this table.

Advertiser Statistics Pane

Here you can localize all labels of the Advertiser Statistics Pane.

Tools Tab

Statistics Settings

You can allow detection of Bots and Crawlers. In this case you must define Accuracy of Bots and Crawlers Detection.

  • Inexact detection – Bot or crawler detected by circumstantial evidence. Chances of errors in case if visitor came through anonymizer.
  • Exact detection – Bot or crawler is detected by a partial analysis of the signature.
  • More exact detection – Bot or crawler is detected by a full analysis of the signature. Not recommended. The level of the problem does not match the level of resources spent.
  • JS – Very simple, but very effective method. No analysis. 97% of bots and crawlers don’t load javascript. Only human visitors generate statistical data.

If bot is detected the hits of ads won’t be counted. Use with caution! More exact detection requires more server resources.

You can allow to collect and keep statistical data.

Keep Statistical Data – Period of keeping statistical data (excluding current month).

Geo Location

Select your geolocation resource – Select geo location resource you want to use.

  • DB-IPDB-IP (v2.0) online service. API Key needed.
  • MaxMind GeoIP Legacy – GeoIP Legacy Web Services. API Key needed.
  • MaxMind GeoIP2 PrecisionGeoIP2 Precision Services. User ID and License Key needed.
  • Your own MaxMind GeoIP2 DB or GeoLite2 DB – Your own DB tables. You must prepare these tables for use. Use conversion utility from MaxMind. The start/end IP addresses should be represented as integers. For backward compatibility only!
  • Your own MaxMind GeoIP2 or GeoLite2 MMDB file – You own MMDB database file. Unpack and upload it onto your server. You can use plugin uploader on the Tools Page
In order to be able to use geo targeting you must:

  1. Select Resource of Geolocation and enter the necessary data for it
  2. Turn on the rule “Geo Targeting” on General Tab
  3. If you want to use the two-level or three-level geo targeting, you should create DB Table of Regions (see Tools)

Display of Currency – Define display of currency. Auto – auto detection of currency from blog settings. USD, EUR – Forcing the display of currency to U.S. dollars or Euro.

Approving Mail

Every time you approve advertisements for use on your blog pages, the advertiser receives email from you with notifying him of this. Adjust the text of this mail here.

You can use the following short codes in the field “Mail Body” of this section:

  • [name] – will be replaced with the advertiser’s name.
  • [site_name] – will be replaced with the name of your site.
  • [ad_name] – will be replaced with the name of approved ad.
  • [ad_description] – will be replaced with the description of the approved ad.
  • [stats_url] – will be replaced with the link to the advertiser’s unique statistics page (if page is defined).

Mail Subject – enter mail subject here.

Mail Body – enter the text of message here.

Scavenge

Parameters of moving to the trash and removing of expired ads.

Permanently delete an expired ads – sets the time period after which it is necessary to remove the expired ads.

HTML Settings

You can define HTML classes for plugin’s output tags.

Use Classes – Select method (default or custom) of the classes naming.

Custom SAM Container Class, Custom Place Class, Custom Ad Class – set custom names of classes for output tags.

To prevent Ad Blocker detecting and blocking your ads use custom classes. Plugin generates individual unique names of classes for each site. Anytime you can change names of classes clicking “Generate Classes” button.
